HIGH RISE RENOVATION IN PACIFIC HEIGHTS
1940 Vallejo St., San Francisco “High Glamour in Pacific Heights”
The task at hand was to redevelop a full floor condominium unit in an early 20th century high rise art deco building in the heart of Pacific Heights. It was a light filled space that had not been renovated in over 40 years. Additionally, the layout did not fully optimize the panoramic views of the Bay.
Gary Jerabeck’s clients were looking for an elegant retirement retreat that met their needs for a sophisticated art filled home that was conducive to gracious entertaining. Additionally, the home required state of the art technology, from Audio/visual equipment to fully updated utility systems.
With a central focus being on the views, Gary’s first design objective was to lower all the rear view windows of the unit and to reconfigure the spaces. This would assure that one truly appreciated the sense of place created by the presence of San Francisco’s land marks, including the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz and panoramic city vistas.
Architectural character was created through the use of moldings, coffered and boxed ceilings, wrought iron details, specialty finishes and highly crafted custom cabinetry throughout the bathrooms, kitchen and new library. Rich walnuts, ebony gloss paints, rift oak and hand painted detailing are amongst the many elements incorporated into this home’s collage of glamour.
Gary and his team designed, coordinated, managed and implemented this highly detailed oriented project from start to turn key completion with the final results delighting the clients.
