“The very first thing I noticed when I first walked into the home was the amazing woodwork inside and out,” she said. “A lot of it is hand crafted, and the original owners’ son was said to have done much of the woodwork, which is really highlighted by some of the doors in the home.”
The renovation, which was designed by Gary Jerabeck’s team at Architectural Development Inc., and executed by general contractor CWG Inc., was completed in 2006. The property’s landscaping architecture was done by Leslie Zimmerman.
The home now has a modern island kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a modern family room and updated bathrooms to go with its largely untouched living room, which has a fireplace and an abundance of original woodwork.
Schumacher said the updates blend seamlessly with the rooms that still have much of their period detailing.
